Is it possible that my 7 month old Boxer puppy would lose his slightly longer puppy fur and grow in a shorter adult coat?
I just gave him a bath and brushed him. I must have picked up 4 handfulls of fur.
He is shedding so bad. Does he have another coat coming in possibly?
I obviously have no idea what is going on so any help is appreciated :)

No bald spots. The new coat is coming in a bit shorter as well and shinnier.
No bald spots though...just a TON of shedding :(
I did buy the zoom groom today and that thing is AMAZING!

Poor you, don't worry. I found a good website that's pretty straight forward, so I thought I'd post the link for you. It's easier than me explaining it all.

Take it from a Vet Tech: If you start to notice lots of licking, scratching or bald patches, he could have allergies or mange. But my pets shed all year round....but right now they're shedding quite a bit with the season starting to change. If he's not licking/itchy/bald, I wouldn't worry about it.

if the new coat coming in looks healthy, and he's not balding, itching flaking or has any redness.. then I wouldnt worry about it... it could be he's loosing his winter coat, or his puppy coat.

I think it's pretty normal for puppies to blow their coats as they hit that adolescent stage. 7 months old sounds about right.
