I've only had 2 shots so far, I'm due for my next shot in January. I've actually lost half of my hair.. and I wasn't informed that this was a side effect until I called today. I was on the depo shot for 8 years, I stopped taking it about 4 months ago, now all my hair is falling out, it didnt happen while I was taking it, but it is now, I would stop taking it because even if it does stop you will probley have hair falling out when you want to stop. My dr. said it would stop and my hair will grow back.

One of my friends had this same problem when she was on Depo-Provera a few years back. She said that she literally had entire patches of hair missing on her head. When she asked her doctor about it, he told her that it was one of the side-effects and they would look for an alternative method of birth control for her. It took several months for her hair to start growing back in, but it was still pretty thin. It still is, even now. When she asked her doctor about this months later, he said that sometimes it is reversible after cessation of the Depo shot and may take several months for hair to grow back, and sometimes it's not if genetics are a factor.

Sometimes tap water has additives that are very bad for you. Bottled water has generally been treated and is much better for you with much less contaminants

that is ridiculous. In fact, you'll soon notice a new label appearing on my bottled waters that they are, in fact, just purified tap water (akin to water from a Britta filter). If you feel unsure about the purity of your tap water, I would suggest buying a filter. Either way, it should have no effect on your hair.

Hi I'm very concerned for my dog.

I bought my pup from a shelter. The day I got her back, I felt she had a lump on the forehead. I bought it to the vet's next day and he said it was a 'pimple' and it'll go away. A clump of hair fell away from that area and it did go away.

Now, my puppy has another similar "pimple" on her lower back. Just then, a clump of hair fell off and there was a wound with a bit of blood on it.

What should I do? And any idea what this might be? Thanks.

Oh gosh I'm going through the same thing right now! Normally your hair folicles go through a cycle of being active (growing) and being dormant (sheding) and you'll lose approx. 100 hairs per day. While we're pregnant however, our hair stays in its active state and doesn't fall out due to hormones. Sometime between 3 and 6 mos. after giving birth you start shedding all the hair that you should've (but didn't) while you were pregnant. I suppose it's part of the deal and it should stop sometime between 12 and 18 mos. after giving birth.

I find that if I comb my hair thouroughly after showering that it pulls out a lot of the loose hair and I don't shed all over the house or my clothes as much. Hopefully it'll stop for both of us soon! :)

She had very bad eye boogers and I was wondering if the salt from this could be causing some infection or irretaton. It dose not bother her but looks funny. Any thing I can put on it to help. I have tryed Vaseline to keep it covered but dont know if I should use it on her....

Well, if her eye problem is that bad, she might have an infection. I'd take the dog to the vet.

No dog should have more than a few small eye boogers, just like people do. Anything more should be cause for alarm, since it is probably either allergies (which could be causing other problems inside you aren't seeing) or infection. Both would require a trip to a vet.

Then you can also mention the hair issue.
