It takes nine months for you to grow a baby. It takes at least nine months after your baby in order for your body to start to resume where it was pre-pregnancy. This is common because every year we naturally shed hair and during pregnancy our hair folicles tighten up and do not release the hair, that is why it seems as though we get some gorgeous hair during pregnancy. Then when our babies are finally born, our bodies tend to slowly go back to the way they were before pregnancy, which means we go back to our natural shedding process. Our shedding process was briefly put to a stop during the pregnancy, so now our bodies must make up for lost time so that is why we seem to lose handfuls of hair for a year or more after having babies. Do not be alarmed, your hair will not all fall out, your body will eventually get back to normal procedures and you will not be noticing so much hair in the drain or your hairbrush. I had my third baby almost a year ago, I am still losing hair by the handfuls, it is getting to be a lot less now, but I know it will quit soon.

That is completely normal. Your normal hairshedding stops while you are pregnant and than catches up after you give birth. Then breast feeding hormones wreck their own havoc! It settles down around the time the baby hits 6 months of age.

when your body adjust back to normal your hair will start growing back sometimes it takes up to 1 year for everything to get back to where it was.
